How To Get Married Abroad - Organizing Your Destination Wedding

18 NOVEMBER 2020

With many facilities to travel and connect with people from different places, the Destination Wedding is always a great choice for those who want to celebrate their weddings out of their homelands, of even for those who live abroad and would like to receive their guests in a paradisiacal place to say their longed-for yes and live amazing days.

The so-called Destination Wedding is more than a simple wedding ceremony. Bride, groom and guests travel to a very special destination, and, instead of a five-hour event like traditional weddings, the celebration is extended for days.

The first step to organize a perfect Destination Wedding, in addition to choose the destination (of course), is checking which documents are required to get married outside your country of origin.

If you are thinking about saying the longed-for yes in the Caribbean lands –find here the best resorts for a wedding in the Caribbean ?- we can help you and answer all questions!

For the Destinations Weddings in the Caribbean, we always instruct bride and groom to submit all documentation of their legal marriage in their homeland or where they are living, so that they don’t have any issues and for the protocol is as simple as possible. The ceremony will occur in the Destination Wedding, which will be symbolic, customized and very meaningful for the couple, but all protocols will be carried out even before they board for the travel.

In some resorts in the Caribbean, such as ?Hotel Xcaret México?, which is located in Riviera Maya, it is possible to carry out a religious ceremony in a chapel within the resort facilities, but it is also required that the couple already is living a legal steady union, with all protocols already carried out in their homeland or where they are living.

However, if the couple don’t wish to carry out a steady union or a religious wedding, it is possible to carry out only the symbolic ceremony in any place of the Caribbean, whether in Cancun, Punta Cana or Curaçao. That is, it is not required to submit documents evidencing a steady union to carry out a ceremony, unless for the catholic ceremony, in any resort of the Caribbean.

This symbolic ceremony can be even more special and customized, through  a sand ceremony or some Maya ceremony, for example, what really matters is being very special and translating the personality of each couple.
